Sketchbox by Marina Willer

Everyday Things for Earth Hour Day 2, Pentagram partner Marina Willer talks us through her design for the collection.

“Sketchbox isn’t rocket science, it’s a simple and obvious way to use the waste that we produce in our studio. We’ve hunted through Pentagram’s recycling bins to make sketch books that have more character and are more playful than bland corporate ones that we tend to find in the market.

The covers of the books are made of disused boxes and the insides are stuffed with all the non-confidential paper we could find. Because each sketchbook is handmade and is completely repurposed, they are able to show the character of the person who made it creating something tactile and non-neutral, which is refreshing in a digital world.”
