Always in Fashion by Philip Treacy OBE
Hats for Royal weddings, hats for Lady Gaga and hats for Harry Potter – now Philip Treacy OBE works his millinery magic on this beautifully green design, drawing attention to the need to be eco-conscious as well as fashion-conscious.
Every pair of jeans, jumper, skirt and shirt is significant in its impact on the environment. It takes 1/3 pound of synthetic fertilizers to grow just one pound of raw cotton, and it takes around one pound of raw cotton to make a single t-shirt.
Cotton can still be worn with a free conscience, just make sure it’s organic to avoid pesky pesticides. Binning any clothing is a sin – recycle or upcycle your clothes when you’ve finally worn them out.
