Runaway Tap by Ruth Wood

This playful sketch by illustrator Ruth Wood suggests a simple step we can take to help prevent our planet from going down the plughole – and you barely have to lift a finger.

“It’s so easy to turn the tap off while brushing your teeth, and the same goes for shaving, washing your hands and cleaning the dishes,” says Ruth. “I thought a tap running would be a fun way to spread the message.”

Why?

Leaving the tap running while brushing your pearly whites wastes around 6 litres of eminently drinkable water. What’s more, even a dripping tap wastes 15 litres a day. Who knew…

How?

Just stick this poster above your sink to add a splash of humour to your morning routine and remind you to turn the tap off. All the way off.
