Cowgirl by Kate Garner
Artist Kate Garner is not only one of the world’s leading haute couture image-makers, she is also someone who sees the world through a conscientious lens. For the final poster in our campaign, Kate shoots a girl with a cows head, calling for us to address our insatiable and unsustainable appetite for meat. Kate said:
“This is why I don’t eat meat and only eat dairy from a non-slaughter dairy. The animals we are keeping in these concentration camps are sentient beings ….. just like us……They don’t speak human, but if you listen and look at this video you can see and hear that they feel pain, joy, love, grief……. just like us. To torture, treat with indifference, humiliate, stomp on,smash onto the ground , kick, hit, starve, rape,cut, infect, imprison, boil alive, skin alive, steal and kill their babies is to do the same to ourselves. The human race will never find peace until they stop bullying and using for their own greed and profit the non-human animals on this planet.”

Why?
The world eats more meat than we can produce through natural, humane methods. As a result, we mass produce meat in factory farms. So, not only is the livestock industry pumping more carbon into the atmosphere and using up more water than any other, it’s also just downright unpleasant for the animals that are held captive.
