Listen to Gaylord Nelson
This week we celebrated the 44th annual Earth Day – the brainchild of U.S Senator and sustainable thought leader Gaylord Nelson.
We thought we would commemorate the great man behind the great global event, so a bunch of creatives clubbed together to visualise a compelling soundbite taken from his Senate speech in 1970 – a “rare and historic” speech in which he proposed his strategy for tackling the “environmental crisis.” In his own words.
“There is a great need, and growing support, for the introduction of new values in our society—where bigger is not necessarily better—where slower can be faster—and where less can be more.”
You can read the full transcript from Gaylord’s speech here.
Head to EarthDay.org and join over a billion people around the world in pledging to act in a way which is kinder to the planet.
