Buy Nothing by Hayden Adams
Copywriter Hayden Adams was inspired by Buy Nothing Day and has created a poster that encourages us to resist the seductive powers of sales prices and enjoy the free pleasures in life that don’t carry an environmental cost.
“I enjoy giving and receiving gifts at Christmas, but the Black Friday weekend encourages over-consumption. People trample over each other to buy more and more gifts, and it comes at a massive cost to the planet. This is especially sad when most of us still have unused and under-loved gifts from years past. So, with this poster, I’m hoping more people will join the movement to buck the trend and not spend.”
Why?
Pollution from production and unnecessary waste are all a part of the cycle of over-consumption. 20% of the world’s population are using 80% of the world’s resources, and that’s not good for 100% of us.
How?
Whether you’re in LA, London or NYC, there are ways to spend your weekend that are totally free.
